Here is some of what you need to know. The parking here is tough, we parked near the bridge and walked up to the trail. A must do hike if you are near the Hudson Valley.
1. Scroll the mouse over the altitude line to see where it lines up on the map
2. Click on the flags for more information
3. Click on the pictures to make them large
Don’t worry though, after that, it really isn’t that bad. The trail turns right onto an access road as seen below. Their is a slight uphill grade, and no more boulders. Also shown below is a swamp near the top, for once the kids were not begging to jump in .
The end of the trail comes to a T intersecting, with small trails to the left and the right, both leading to vistas.
The trail to the right opens up to a rocky outcropping. You will get a panoramic view of the Hudson River and its valley. It is an active area, from the mountain we saw boats, planes, and helicopters. Great for any day spring or fall.
Come check out the Hudson Valley, we did several hikes the day we came to town. We really enjoyed the area and its sites. No doubt we will be back soon.
