Little difficulty on this trail in terms of distance, navigation, or technicality. You can choose from a few trail option, but from the parking area we took the orange blazed trail counter-clockwise to get to the top. We only encountered a few obstacles (the worst being moose poop) and before we knew it we were at the top. Take a minute to peek in the old fire watchers house but be careful, the floor did not look safe.
The cab itself is locked but NH was thoughtful enough to build a platform near the top which makes for a great viewing area. Looking south you will see a sea of trees that is really an awesome sight and reminds me of one of my favorite views in the NY Catskills. Looking North is a set of mountains which I have a hard time identifying, the best I can tell is that it is a part of the Moose Mountain reservation. (I would be happy to take some suggestions as to what people see). Really the view is incredible and worth seeing.
The orange blaze trail continues after the tower to make a loop…we were starving so we went back the way we came to prevent complications.
