Here is some of what you need to know: Their is a $10 per car fee (2016). Parking is limited so on a hot summer weekend it may be tough to gain entrance to the park.

1. Scroll the mouse over the altitude line to see where it lines up on the map

2. Click on the flags for more information

3. Click on the pictures to make them large

Their are many trails in this park so make sure you check out the official Official Park Map. It was almost 90 degrees and we had already hiked in Vermont earlier in the day so we chose to drive to the parking area near the tower. From your car it is only a 0.2 mile walk up a well groomed dirt road to the tower.

The fire tower is in great condition and I felt safe climbing to the top (Not the case with every FT). The Box was locked but we still got a great view of the Berkshire mountains and vermont in the north. Their was a nice breeze on this hot day and we were able to spend good amount of time watching the valley.

Afterwards we went to the lake, cooked some food, and jumped in the water. It was a perfect end to an awesome day of hiking. If you are on a hunt for fire towers check out Mount Olga an hour north in Vermont. We love Massachusetts hiking and we cannot wait to come back. Tell me about your trip, everywherehiker@gmail.com.
